In March of 2024, I flew to Midland, spent the night with Bobby and Leslie, and then drove to Taos with Bobby Lee and Mark Dehlinger. Same guys, same trip we have made since we were in high school.
I have skied at Taos many times with Bobby and Mark, our last trip to ski Taos together in March 2022. It was a good time, spring skiing, I thought it was probably one of the last weeks the ski area was open. However, it snowed 44” in the 3 days after we left so they stayed open longer.
Mark drove his mobile oilman office, a giant dusty Ford F350 truck and he wanted to drive all the way there and back, I did not complain.
Driving from Midland to Taos, through New Mexico, I am always amused to see these two guys standing across the road from one another and looking ready to fight.
As usual, we waited until the last second to plan our trip. Felicia found a very nice, brand new Airbnb stucco house outside of Taos on the road to Taos Ski Valley. It was a few miles out of town but a straight shot to the road to Taos Ski Valley.
I would recommend this place and we all agreed that we would like to stay there again. 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, heated floor, great view of the mountains. Save that address Felicia!
