UK Road Trips with MCL 1997 to 2000

January 1997 UK Road Trip

This was on a trip where we were in the UK, then went to Finland and then Lisbon.  I then flew from Lisbon through Rome and on to Cairo for another week.  I wish I was still that slim!

Joe Begue and I were at Marlborough Communications Ltd. (MCL) with our friend Darren Allery.  It looks like we were getting ready for a demonstration.

===March 1999 UK Road Trip During Extract===

I went to a small town called Shepton Mallet in the south of England where they made some of the most advanced tape recorders in the world.  We found a small town, then a small shop, then a dog asleep in the open door.

On the way back we went by Stonehenge and had to stop and take pictures.  I think I was with John Rahne, Joe Simas and Darren Allery.  It was very cold and windy, but Stonehenge is a very unusual sight to see and think about

== January 2000 In Lincoln During Extract ==

My favorite street in Lincoln is Steep Hill Street – very steep with a lot a restaurants and pubs.  See Brown’s Pie Kitchen on the right side of this picture, where I have eaten several times.  Good place for some haggis or a shepherd’s pie.

This is where the locals go for a pub crawl.  Start out sober at the top and 10 pubs later you have to walk back up the hill to get to your hotel.

Lincoln Cathedral

Lincoln Cathedral and Lincoln Castle are on the highest point in Lincoln.  I guess you made castles on the high ground.  Very old and very beautiful artwork and carvings on the Cathedral.

Inside of Lincoln Castle you can walk around the walls, look out of the guard towers and see where the bad people were kept.

John, Darren and Dick at the castle.

Bob Blanchard and John Rahne.  We were eating and drinking on a cruise boat in Lincoln.

And drinking and drinking and ….

Bob is a pretty good singer but he sang a lot of Texas songs that the locals did not know
