In July, 2021, Felicia and I flew to San Diego to cool off from the bad Dallas heat. We stayed at the Marriott Gaslamp Quarter in the historic old downtown area and close to the Embarcadero and harbor.
Our hotel was across the street from Petco Park, where the San Diego Padres play. We had a very high floor in the hotel and could see down into the field, but there were no home games played while we were there.
Since it was COVID period, we did not rent a car and used UBER 2-3 times a day. Parking is so expensive in downtown San Diego, I do not recommend renting a car there.

One of my favorite parts of our trip to San Diego was spending about 3 hours touring the USS Midway, which is now a great floating museum. This a great bargain if you are interested in military ships and aircraft.
