Lake Tahoe March 2000

In March of 2000 Felicia, Susie Larry and I flew to Reno, Nevada and then drove to the Lake Tahoe area on the Nevada – California border.  We stayed in Nevada at Harrah’s Casino so that we could gamble.  We skied at Heavenly Valley Ski Area which was only about 1 mile away.

The lake was very beautiful, probably the prettiest place I have skied at.  The snow was very good and the sun shined the whole weekend.

A few years later (I do not know what year?), Felicia and Susie and I went back to Lake Tahoe area to ski for a day and skied at Squaw Valley, site of the Winter Olympics in 1960. Squaw Valley is on the north side of Lake Tahoe.  It wasn’t the best day for skiing but bad skiing is better than not skiing at all.

Heavenly Valley Ski Area

This was back before anybody wore helmets to ski with.

Beautiful place to ski

You can see that at Heavenly Ski area you ski almost down to Lake Tahoe – don’t fall in, they said it is >1000 feet deep.  You can also see the ice on the lake.
