Our summer trip for 2007 was to go see the Pacific coast of Oregon to cool off and to check Oregon off of Susan and Larry’s map. It was very hot in the Dallas area in August 2007, but the highs on the coast were in the mid-70s. We did cool off but it was 102 when we got back to Dallas again.
Felicia, Kendra, Susie, Larry and I flew into Portland and drove west to the coast. First stop was at Cannon Beach to see the Haystack Rock piles. Felicia had rented us a cabin right on the beach just south of Lincoln City. It was nice and we had a cool beach to play on for 4 days (cool as in cold! )
The Oregon coast was very nice; we drove over about 2/3 of it with many stops at the roadside pullouts to take pictures. We put 1500 miles on our SUV in one week.
