These pictures are from a boat trip to Maligne Lake from Jasper, of canoeing in Moraine Lake, of the input for a white water rafting trip at Rearguard Falls near Tete Jaune Cache (we did not go on this whitewater rafting trip, it was pretty rough and Kendra was scared), of a grizzly bear walking near our cabin by Banff and of our cabin at Terracana.
The turquoise water in the lakes is hard not to take pictures of!

Moraine Lake near Lake Louise
Moraine Lake - the water is cold, even in July!
Places we stayed on this trip:
The first night we stayed in the town of Banff
Three nights at Jasper at a great cabin on the edge of town, but 5 minutes to downtown – there were big herds of elk in the yard every morning and evening. Jasper is great!
Two nights we stayed northwest of Jasper at Terracana Lodge Resort – very nice and relaxing and close to Mt Robson, we had stayed there 10 years before in 1999
Two nights we stayed north of Banff at Johnston Canyon Resort
View of the Fraser River
Valemont, with 1000 people is the closest place to eat, get gas and food near Tarracana Lodge
We stayed at the Terracana Ranch Resort in 1999 and loved it so we went back again. It is on the Fraser River and the Salmon had swum hundred of miles upriver from the Pacific Ocean to spawn and then die. These dead salmon attract a lot of bald eagles and bears. The nearest town is Tete Juane Cache, too small to do much in, but I love to say the name. Its best to go another 10 miles to Valemont. (Tête jaune is French for “yellow head”.)
