Skiing Mt Rose at Lake Tahoe - January 2019
In January of 2019, Felicia & Susie flew to meet me in Reno, Nevada for some sightseeing,
gambling and skiing. We stayed at the Grand Sierra Resort and on Saturday, Felicia went
gambling at the Peppermill.
Susie and I went skiing at Mount Rose, which you can clearly see from Reno. It had snowed
about 4 feet during the week and I was afraid that the rods would not be open, but they
opened up on Saturday morning and I had an AWD Nissan Rogue which got us there and
back.
Mount Rose has the highest base elevation of all the ski areas at Lake Tahoe. It is not really
big, but the snow was wonderful, there were not many people there, no lift lines and we had
a very good time.
On the way back, since we were essentially at the mountain pass, we drove down to Incline
Village on Lake Tahoe to look around. There were hundreds of cars parked on the way to
Incline Village with stairs carved in the deep snow and hundreds of kids sledding, snowshoeing
and cross country skiing.
