Skiing Alta and Deer Valley Utah - March 2017
In March of 2017, Susie, Kendra and I went skiing for 3 days in the middle of the week
in the Salt Lake City area.  Kendra had off on Spring Break, but Dallas, Ft. Worth, UT,
Texas Tech and Salt Lake City all had the next week off.  That meant nobody was at the
ski areas and no lift lines all week!  On top of that, we decided to ski at Alta and at Deer
Valley which are for skiers only so we had no snow boarders.

Felicia rented us a 3 bedroom house through VRBO in the Sugar Hill neighborhood of
Salt Lake City.  Easy to get to, close by to lots of eateries, ski shops and grocery stores.

Later on, I will put some GoPro videos on line at my YouTube page:

It snowed as we were getting to Salt Lake City, they got 13 inches of new snow at
Alta so we decided to go there on day one.  We were not very good at skiing
in that much new powder and it was pretty cold and windy on our first day there.

On our second day, we drove over to Park City and went skiing at Deer Valley.
Weather was beautiful, snow packed down some so the skiing was much better.
On day three, we went back to Alta to ski some of the areas that we had not skied
     on before.

The snow conditions were much better in Salt Lake City than they had been in
Colorado a few weeks before.  Much more snow base (143 inches) and the new
snow made it fun and challenging to get around.  We did need the 4WD and snow
tires to drive up the road to Snowbird and Alta - cops were checking.

And did I mention that for three days we had no lift lines?!
