Did I mention that the river water was cold?  It was right from the melted snow in the mountains.  Felicia
liked looking at the river and listening to its never stopping noise.  Kendra liked walking in it and throwing
    rocks.

We took a wilderness tour in a 1954 deuce and a half truck that could drive up or down any mountain, no matter how
steep or rocky.  That was fun, but even more fun was riding on ATVs.  We rented two 4-wheelers for 4 hours and got
to go where we wanted.  We were not in the Rocky Mountain National Park, were just outside of the park on some
government land that seemed to be used for horses, 4-wheelers, monster trucks and motor cycles.  We had a great
time because we did not have to follow a driver, but could go where and when we wanted.   Kendra even drove
some, but don't tell the ATV rental company.  We saw 3 moose while we were out 4-wheeling around.
After a week we had to leave
and go back to Denver.  On our
way out of Estes Park, we
    stopped at the historic Stanley
Lodge.  It was built by the same
    Mr. Stanley who invented the
Stanley Steamer car in the early
1900s.  It is where the movie
    The Shining was filmed.

We had a good cabin that was
in town.  We normally never stay
in a town when we go on vacation.
When we first drove up there
were about 10 elk eating the
grass right outside of our cabin.

We saw elk, deer, trout, moose,
    prairie dogs and other wild
    critters - Kendra kept count
    in her log book
