How many cheesy pictures can you take of a strong
man holding up a falling tree?  Larry held it up for a
while, when he got tired I held it up.  When I got tired,
we kept on hiking.  This is the picture that I wanted to
use for our Christmas card.
More pictures from Shi Shi Beach
area.  There were many giant logs
there that had been beaten smooth
by the waves bouncing them against
the rocks and the rocky beach
The trees look bigger next to a small kid.  These
were really big trees, many of the cedars, and
all of them very old.  Some of the cut down tree
sections at park headquarters were 800 years
old.
Not sure exactly where we are here, I think it was on the Makah
Indian Reservation where we walked to the most northwest point
in Washington.  We saw some eagles in the trees and bright red,
orange and purple starfish down in the water
The Point Wilson Lighthouse at Port Townsend guided ships
into Puget Sound.  This is new Ft Worden which had big guns
to stop an invasion into the Puget Sound.
I hope that this horse did not die - Kendra fed him dozens
of green apples.  She wants a horse, Felicia wants an
island.  It was pretty much like living in paradise.
Kendra and Susie at Shi Shi Beach.  It was a long
hike to get there but the views were well worth it.
There were not many people there.
Our trusty SUV parked at our cabin
on Whidbey Island.  You can see the
trees and thick bushes and flowers
Hiking in Mt. Rainier
National Park
Felicia, Kendra and Susie enjoying
the scenery and the cool summer.
Cabin where we spent the last several days in Washington.  This was the end of the road, no TV or
radio or cell phones.  This was the northwest corner of the Olympic Peninsula.  We looked across
the Strait of San Juan de Fuca at Canada.  We could see al of the ships heading out to sea or
going inland.  The people who lived here cam to get away from it all.

Washington State & San Juan Islands 2004
On the 4th of July, we were on Whidbey Island and we
all went to Walmart to buy sweatshirts because it was
so cool.  We watched fireworks that night wearing
sweaters and sweatshirts
