Port Stephens & Bondi Beach - July 2013 - Page 6
On our last day we walked from Bondi Beach to the train station and went back to
Sydney Harbour, where we had spent our first day. Took more pictures, climbed
up the bridge to get a good view and shopped on the old Rocks part of town for
some good souvenirs.
- Port Stephens on coast about 100 miles north of Sydney
- Went whale watching
- went to Australian Shark and Ray Center
- Hiked to top of mountain with good ocean view
- met old Australian lady with a kid at Texas Tech
- Tried to drive to sand dunes, almost got rental car stuck
- ate some good fish and shrimps
We went to the Australian Ray And Shark Center where they keep 400 sharks and dozens of rays of different types. Had on 9 foot long
shark and several 5 foot wide sting rays ( with barbs removed). I paid extra for waders to get in the water with the sharks and rays. Waders
had a leak, I got wet and laughed at.
Port Stephens
We stayed for several days right on Bondi Beach. Bondi is the most famous beach in Australia. In the
summer it is home to hundreds of surfers, tiny bathing suits, some topless bathing suits and thousands
of people. In the winter, it was a little slower, all the swimmers and surfers had on wet suits.
Cold water - see Susie nd Kendra getting their feet wet.
