Costa Rica Vacation August 2016 - Page 3
To finish off day two in La Fortuna, they took us to Eco Termales
Hot Springs and Spa for dinner and a swim in the hot springs. While
we were there a big lightning storm hit and the staff did not recommend
getting into the springs. Yes dinner was rice & beans with some good
pollo thrown in. The Eco Termales Spings were beautiful but the rain
and the lightning kept us out most of the time we were there.
Day three in La Fortuna started off with zip-lining with Sky Adventures. We went on 8 different zip-lines and it was
not what I had expected. I had thought that the zip-lines would be flat and slow and we would look at birds, butterflies and
monkeys. I was wrong, and after I started screaming there were no birds or monkeys around us. I was scared but after
looking at these photos, everyone had a very big smile on their face!
After touring the rainforest in the Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park, we drove to the Catarata Rio Fortuna to see a
230 foot high waterfall. This is the place with the 480 steps down and then up. The water was cold and clear but only
Kendra was tough enough to swim under the waterfall. The rest of us waded in the cool, clear water downstream. A
tough hike up but worth the effort
